Seyi Makinde is a man of wisdom like the biblical Solomon

Oyo State has been a state with so many history and challenges due to the towns and cities that make up the richly cultured state.

The major cities in the state have different traditional histories and beliefs which are quite different to others, especially the process of installation of a new king and the history behind each throne in the State.

Since 1999, different governments have tried to reform the Ibadan Obaship and chieftaincy institution but failed to crown the Ibadan High Chiefs and the Baales of the communities surrounding the largest city in Africa and the capital of Yorubaland due to the lack of will from the citizens and the palace.

Ibadan had been the administrative capital of the old Western region since the early days of British colonial rule, Ibadan was a protective wall for Yorubaland against any war and economic challenges.

Unlike other Yoruba cities with traditional kingship institutions, the warrior class became the rulers of the city as well as the most important economic group.

Back to the main issue, like the Ibadan Obaship and chieftaincy reforms, breaking the joint ownership of LAUTECH, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and Establishing the LAUTECH satellite campus in Iseyin these are challenges many governments were not able to resolve due to many factors but Engr. Seyi Makinde just like the biblical King Solomon resolved all these challenges in a matter of four years and some months.

Political watchers believed that achieving all these required great wisdom and Intelligence, Governor Seyi Makinde stood out from the former governors who had ruled the state before now, and although they all tried their best, but Seyi Makinde’s approach and native intelligence made the difference.

Seeing Olubadan of Ibadan crowning Obas in the city of Ibadan has proved that Ibadan’s throne has taken her rightful place as a powerful warrior institution that produces crowned kings, by this, Ibadan Metropolitan status has also been achieved!
