Just In: Why Agidigbo FM Boss, Oriyomi Hamzat Was Arrested – Police
The Nigeria Police have confirmed the arrest of Oriyomi Hamzat on Thursday.
According to news gathered from daily post and punch,the popular Ibadan-based broadcaster was taken by Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) operatives.
A statement by Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi gave the update.
The spokesman noted that Hamzat was transported to custody for a cyber bullying case under invstigation.
Adejobi said Oriyomi refused to honour invitation severally, which prompted the police to secure a warrant for his arrest..
The statement read, “The popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat, was arrested in Ibadan today by our Force Intelligence Bureau operatives in connection with a case of Cyber Bullying under investigation
“Oriyomi’s arrest was sequel to his refusal to honour Police invitation severally, which prompted the police to secure a warrant for his arrest.

“We are looking into the petition written against him on his violation of the Cyber Crime Act, 2015, and necessary action will be taken to do justice in the matter”, the statement reads.
Hamzat has been vocal over the case murdered Timothy Adegoke, who was a Masters student at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) until his death.
