Gone are the days when attention was not paid to meaningful and impactful governance across all levels in Nigeria by those many believed should know. A time when governance was left in the hands of “as usual,” and unusual.”

Before now, only few knows that efficient governance is not a tea party but an extra ordinary task which must never be left to the care of unserious people who in the past has made governance a usual business Ventures.

Governance in all ramifications has been a sensitive and delicate enterprise that, if not gotten right, will badly shattered lives and abort many dreams and potentials.

It is believed in developed nations of the world that those people who are not well educationally equipped and better places shouldn’t aspire to be involved at all.

When leadership traits and character are substandard and leadership capacity and effectiveness are suspect, then, those knows nought needs to stay off.

It’s a one-human endeavour that requires everything from those who are aspiring to be involved: resourcefulness, hard work, probity and accountability, decisiveness, steadfastness, emotional and psychological stability, and, of course, being trusted and tested.

It becomes extremely demanding if a state, with so much at stake like Oyo state.

Oyo State, because of its ancient history, land mass, its place, even in the national historical lines, remains the capital of the Southwest and conveniently connects the region to other parts of the country.

Oyo Federal Constituency ability to produce the next governor can be influenced by various political and economic factors, including economic growth, resourcefulness, job creation, and promotion of economic development through vocational skills and technology innovation to ensure a prosperous future for all individuals, groups of individuals, professional bodies, and others in the state.

Due to the geographical location of the state, it also requires the ability and capability of the politician involved in the game to bring together all major political players from other zones.

Having a governor from Oyo Federal Constituency will, for in recent times, show equity, fairness, and justice.

Oyo town is known as an ancient town of rich history and culture and, to a large extent, known for commerce, which will enhance more economic benefits, buoyancy, prosperity, and policy sustainability for the entire state

Olaoluwa Peter Abidemi, fellow, institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a proud son of Oyo has transverse the length and breadth of the country and even beyond with rich experiences in accounting, money management and a sojourn in oil and gas sector has been identified by cross section of leaders and stakeholders in the ancient town.

From the remote enviroment of parental origin in Afijio to his birth place in Igbeti. He was at different times acquired primary and secondary education, after which he headed to Benin Cuty to further his education.

Post university education , he has since upgraded himself with prerequisite skills needed for someone with mind fixed to govern a complex state like Oyo.

Before now, Oyo is known for producing many best in human endeavour and all they set their hands to do.

Olaoluwa is an ardent politician and astute political gladiator who had positively impacted so many lives even when he was not even eyeing or have it in mind to be Oyo state governor.

He was the President of the Ifesowapo/Celica community in Egbeda local government, where he performed beyond expectations and to the admiration of many residents.

His good works continue to speak even after many years of his exit in the position.

The transformer installed in the community, the pooling booth he facilitated, the bore hole repaired, and many students on scholarship will forever be grateful to OPA. He has continued to be a man of the people through some meaningful contributions to his communities.

Indeed, to some politicians, they eat and breathe politics with no second address. But for OPA, he’s an accountant, a data analyst, and a farmer with acres of farmland, among many others.

It’s high time for the Oyo Federal Constituency to continue the good work of moving Oyo State to the highest level by taking up the mantle of leadership after the eight years of Governor Seyi Makinde

It is time to allow and support the man of the people, “OPA DEE, IRORUN DEE,” as the 2027 political game is gathering momentum, especially now for Oyo to produce the next state governor.
