REVEALED: What You May Not Know About Makinde ₦79.3b Supplementary Budget Presented To Oyo Assembly
In a fresh development, Eagle’s Sight News reports that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has submitted a supplementary budget of ₦79,337,000,000.00 to the Oyo State House of Assembly for review and approval.
According to the Speaker, Rt. Honorable Adebo Ogundoyin, “this supplementary budget aims to enable realignment of the recurrent and capital expenditure for the services of Oyo State” by the end of 2024 [no direct source found].
During Tuesday’s plenary sitting, Ogundoyin read the executive’s message, revealing the supplementary budget’s purpose. The budget successfully passed its first reading and was referred to the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation, Budget, and Economic Planning for further examination.
It’s worth noting that Oyo State is currently implementing its 2024 Appropriation budget, totaling over N438.4 billion, which was approved by the House Assembly and signed into law by Governor Makinde.
The supplementary budget’s allocation will facilitate adjustments to the state’s recurrent and capital expenditures, ensuring effective resource management until December 31, 2024.
