Today, Ibadan literally stood still, as dignitaries trooped in their numbers to honour the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji to an 8 day fidua prayer held at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

Speaking with newsmen at the 8 day Fidua prayer in respect to the late monarch, organized by the eleven local government chairmen in Ibadan and council of chiefs, Hon. Sanda Sikiru, the chairman Egbeda local government and the oyo State ALGON chair’ said we have lost a father an enigma and if it was possible to buy death we would have done that to keep the late Olubadan with us, but it’s the will of God and all that’s expected from us being baba’s children is to give him a befitting last respect in which you can all see for yourself.
Also speaking was the chairman Ibadan north local government and also the public relations officer to oyo state ALGON, hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo (Agba Egbe), appreciated His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde for his Immense Contributions since the demise of the monarch and also emphasized on the selfless Contribution from his colleagues the chairmen of the eleven-local governments in Ibadan, who had also taken upon themselves to see that baba is given befitting burial.
