Makinde Finally Addresses Oyo Protesting Workers,Promises Quarterly Meeting
The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has finally addressed the Protesting State worker at the Governor’s Office Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan. Eaglessightnews has gathered.
The State workers for almost a week have been protesting against some worrisome deduction from their salaries and other economic challenge facing them. The workers also insisted not to stop the protest until the Governor address them.
Reacting to the demands of the workers, Governor Makinde while addressing the workers on Monday promised to quarterly hold a formal meeting with the state Labour movement.
Makinde pointed that the protest which the workers in the state embarked on for almost a week has caused huge damages to the state revenue , appealing to them to resume work immediately.
The state governor further said his leadership will continue to ensure the workers’ welfare is his priority ,assuring them of payment of all outstanding entitlements.

Makinde in his speech also advised the protesting workers to have a positive and progressive mind.
Governor Makinde however informed the aggrieved workers that subsequent information will be passed to them through their union leaders.
Mr Kayode Martins while reacting to the government address on behalf of the labour movement applauded the governor for readiness to listening to the Unions, presented apologies to the government for open protest despite explainable good performance in making its demands known.
