Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde disclosed on Saturday that he has approved the sum of two billion naira only being part of allowances to sacked local government Chairmen in the state.
The recent development was revealed by the Governor revealed during the funeral and thanksgiving service for late late Madam Ruth Adenihun Dare, mother of Former minister of Youths and Sport development, Sunday Dare held at Sabo Baptist Church, Ogbomosho.
Eaglessightnews recalls that Makinde had stated that the ex-LG chairmen will not get a dime until the Supreme Court asks his administration to pay.
Makinde stated “I will not pay into wrong people. This is a government that is based on the constitution.”
In a further report credited to goalpoacher , Makinde further implores political compatriot , that political gladiators are not worth dying for, said they know how to settle their scores behind the scene.
Recall that local government Chairmen who were elected during late Governor Abiola Ajimobi second term in office have been engaged in legal battle with Governor Makinde since he sacked them when he came to office in 2019
The Governor also revealed that his administration will during inauguration, name ongoing Ogbomosho to Iseyin 78.5km Road project, in honour of late Governor Adebayo Alao Akala.
Speaking with newsmen, legal counsel to the sacked local government Chairmen, Niyi Akintola, SAN, commended Governor Makinde for allowing rule of law to prevailed.
