Just In:Gunmen Kidnap PDP Chairman

Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi, the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state.

The hoodlums were said to have stormed Aziegbemi’s residence in Benin City on Saturday and forced him into their vehicle.

According to blueprint report, the spokesman for the State police command, SP. Chidi Nwabuzor, is yet to respond to the development.

Meanwhile, Edo state government has said, “it is on top of the issue of the unfortunate kidnapping of the Chairman of PDP, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi.”

This was contained in a statement issued by Hon. Chris Nehikhare, the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation

He said the government is working closely with security agencies to ensure his safe release and return to his family.
