Just In: Makinde Assents Bill On Emmanuel Alayande University Of Education Into Law

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has officially signed into law a bill to upgrade Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo to a university status, thus bringing the number of state owned universities in the state to three.

According to goalpoacher news, while signing the bill into law on Monday at the Exco Chamber, Governor’s Office, Makinde describes the event as a landmark achievement in the state.

He noted that education remains one of the cardinal agenda of his administration as contained in his Roadmap for Accelerated Development 2019-2023.

He said the bill signed into law will be known as Oyo Law 2022.
The Governor commended the efforts of the state House of Assembly for the timely and successful passage of the bills and assured that all necessary documents has been put in place and sent to the appropriate quarters.

“We must keep reminding our people from where we were coming from where they used to get 50% subventions and now we took it to hundred percent.

“We are proud of the achievements in the education sector. The University will now be empowered .

In his remarks, the Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin commended Governor Seyi Makinde on the epoch making event adding that his administration has recorded various achievements in the education sector.

The event was attended by Senator Monsurat Summonu, SSG, Chief of Staff, Chairman Advisory Council, lawmakers, Chairman Governing council of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Honourable Commissioners and other political functionaries
