Ekiti PDP Set for Revival: Caretaker Chairman, Makes First Speech after Inauguration (Full Speech)

IBADAN – The newly appointed Chairman of the Ekiti State PDP Caretaker Committee, Chief Dare Adeleke, has pledged to reposition the party for victory in the state.

Chief Dare Adeleke declared this while speaking after his swearing-in ceremony by the Zonal PDP Chairman, Chief Ajisafe Kamoru, at the PDP South West Secretariat in Ibadan.

Adeleke emphasized that Ekiti State is very dear to the party because Ekiti State is PDP state, South west is PDP, and PDP is southwest.

Adeleke attributed the party’s past losses to internal wrangling and bickering, but expressed gratitude to Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ademola Adeleke (Osun) for sustaining the party in the southwest.

The Caretaker Chairman also outlined his committee’s mandate and promised that it will be an open-door policy while adhering to National Working Committee directives.

The full speech reads:

“Our leaders, Your Excellency , the Executive Governor of Oyo state. Engr Seyi Makinde, Your Excellency, The executive Governor of Osun state- Governor Jackson Nurudeen ademola Adeleke.

“Your Excellency, Hon Chief Ajisafe Kamoru, the South West Zonal Chairman of our party PDP

“All the Southwest Zonal Excos here present

“Zonal Party leaders and stakeholders here present, most especially from Ekiti State

“Gentlemen of the press

“Ladies and Gentlemen

” I greet you all.

” I stand before you today by the Grace of God as the Chairman of the Ekiti State PDP Caretaker Committee.

“Section 21 (2) a-b of our party stipulates the establishment of the Caretaker Committee to fill unavoidable void in the party where necessary.

“Ekiti State is very dear to our party because Ekiti State is PDP state.

“Hence, the party will leave no stone unturned to reclaim all states taken from us by the destructive APC party.

“South west is PDP, and PDP is southwest.

“Many avoidable internal wrangling and political bickering have succeeded in tearing us apart, which led to the loss of many states to APC in the southwest, most especially Ekiti State.

“I most sincerely appreciate the leadership of His Excellency Seyi Makinde and His Excellency Ademola Adeleke for sustaining the party in the southwest of Nigeria. God bless you, sirs.

“Furthermore, public and independent commentators have all agreed that Ekiti PDP has the needed number to win if harnessed properly..

“It is on this note that our party at the national level constituted us as the CTC, populated by men and women of impeccable characters who can stand the test of time in political scrutiny.

“Our mandate is to provide the needed leadership at these trying times of our party in Ekiti state, and same shall we do by the Grace of God.

“I am therefore very honoured to stand before you as the chairman of this noble committee.

“We shall immediately swing into actions and do the needful in Ekiti State to reposition the party back to winning ways.

“Our all-inclusive agenda will range from party discipline, reconciliation, unity, welfare, team work, renew confidence in the party etc and ensuring a smooth transition of party leadership to Ekiti PDP leaders through the conduct of credible congresses as directed by the Party at the National level.

“Please note that we shall operate an open door policy, but at no time shall we go against the directive from the National Working Committee.

“Through God, our leadership, and your positive support, Ekiti PDP will rise again by the Grace of God. Amen.
