APPLY:Oyo Govt Opens Portal for Recruitment of 791 Into Civil Service

The Oyo State Government has approved the recruitment of 791 officers into its civil service. Alh. Kamoru Aderibigbe, Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, made this announcement in a statement issued in Ibadan.

According to Aderibigbe, “This recruitment will be the highest into the mainstream of the Civil Service in the last two decades.” He attributed this to Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval of conversions for officers with higher educational qualifications.

Aderibigbe noted that about 1,500 workers have benefited from the Governor’s magnanimity since the beginning of this administration, with more conversions ongoing.

The recruitment will comprise 230 Education Officers and 561 officers into the mainstream.

The exercise will focus on 35 teaching subjects in Ministry of Education-controlled schools and 45 various cadres in the core Civil Service.

To ensure fairness, prospective applicants must log into the State Government job portal https://www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng from October 7 to 11, 2024.

Applicants requiring degrees must be University graduates with at least second-class lower division honors.

Those requiring Higher National Diplomas (HND) must be Polytechnic graduates with a minimum of lower credit.

Aderibigbe emphasized, “All University and Polytechnic graduates must possess NYSC discharged certificates or exemption certificates.”

Applicants with Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) must have a minimum of merit.

Governor Seyi Makinde has “scored another goal” by approving this recruitment for Oyo youths.

Aderibigbe appreciated the collaboration with relevant offices and Labour Unions.

Dr. Taiwo Ladipo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Orientation, reaffirmed the Oyo State Government’s commitment to merit-based recruitment.
