Oyo bids for 2024 NSF hosting rights

Oyo State government has bidded for the hosting rights of the 2024 National Sports Festival.

Sportingtribune scooped from a source within the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports that the bid documents signed by the Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council had been submitted two days ago along with videos and pictorial illustrations to support the bid.

When contacted, general manager, Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Gboyega Makinde, confirmed the speculations, adding the state’s governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde is aware of the process.

“We have submitted all the necessary documents to back the bidding and don’t forget the fact the last time we hosted was in 1979. Oyo State is also the only South West state that had hosted the NSF once, while others have hosted the Games at least twice.

“We also have enough facilities to host the Games successfully, and we can put other facilities in place within a space of one year. In essence, we are fully ready to host the 2024 National Sports Festival,” Gboyega told Sportingtribune.
