Wike, Makinde, Okowa, Udom, Ikpeazu,Others Absent At PDP National Caucus Meeting

Eaglessightnews has gathered that loyalists of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar dominated Wednesday’s meeting of the party’s National Caucus. Nation News reported.

At the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge, venue of the meeting in Abuja, were former Vice President Namadi Sambo; PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu; former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido and former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu.

Also in attendance were former Police Affairs Minister Adamu Maina Waziri and former Kaduna Governor Ahmed Makarfi.

Only three of the 13 PDP Governors attended the meeting.

They are: Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto); Duoye Diri (Bayelsa) and Bala Mohammed (Bauchi).

Three other Governors – Samuel Ortom (Benue); Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa) and Godwin Obaseki (Edo) were represented by their deputies – Benson Abounu; Martins Babale and Philip Shuaibu respectively.

As of the time of filing this report last night, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the Governors in his camp – Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) had not shown up at the meeting, which started about 8pm.

Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel and presidential running mate Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa were not at the meeting either.

Others at the meeting were former Zamfara Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau; Board of Trustees (BoT Chairman Senator Walid Jibrin; BoT Secretary Senator Adolphus Wabara and former Deputy National Chairman (South) Chief Olabode George.
