Aare Omoluwabi:PDP Rep Candidate ,DON Celebrates Makinde, First Lady on Chieftaincy Recognition
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the forthcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, and his wife, Her Excellency Engr. (Mrs.) Tamunominini Makinde, on their recent conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy titles of Aare Omoluwabi and Yeye Aare Omoluwabi of Akure Land.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Hon. Oyekunle described the honour as well-deserved, lauding it as a reflection of Governor Makinde’s enduring legacy of integrity, visionary leadership, and selfless service not only to Oyo State but to the entire South West region and the nation.
“The conferment of the Aare Omoluwabi and Yeye Aare Omoluwabi titles on His Excellency and our amiable First Lady is a testament to their exemplary leadership, humility, and commitment to humanity,” he said. “Their names continue to inspire a new generation of purposeful leaders.”
Hon. Oyekunle noted that the honour bestowed by the traditional institution of Akure Land underscores Governor Makinde’s role as a unifier, as well as his wife’s steadfast support in promoting inclusive development and community welfare.
“As a son of Ibadan and a proud member of the PDP family, I rejoice with our Governor and First Lady on this momentous milestone. I pray their reign as Aare and Yeye Aare Omoluwabi brings more grace, wisdom, and strength to continue their noble service to humanity,” he added.
The grand coronation ceremony, held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, drew dignitaries from across the country and celebrated the richness of Yoruba cultural heritage and values.
Hon. Oyekunle concluded his message with warm wishes for the First Couple, praying for their continued success, sound health, and divine favour as they carry their new traditional titles with honour and dignity.
