PDP Appoints New Ibadan North Chairman After Ex-Chairman Adelore Resigns

In line with the constitution of the party, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has approved the appointment of Hon. Ademuyiwa Mustapha as the Acting Chairman of the PDP in Ibadan North Local Government following the resignation of Mr. Seun Morounfolu Adelore.

Recall  that Eagles Sight News reported that Mr. Adelore resigned his membership of the party on Sunday. Prior to his resignation, he had been reported for negligence of duties and gross violations of the party’s constitution. He was also said to have absconded from his responsibilities without official leave (AWOL).

Mr. Adelore reportedly caught wind of the party’s decision to wield the big stick against him after a series of warnings from the leadership and subsequently chose to resign in an attempt to save face.

Regardless of his gross incompetence, stakeholders were proactive enough to salvage the party and ensure the stability of its structures. The erstwhile chairman had failed to coordinate the affairs of the party, having abandoned his duties for more than a year.

In a statement released to newsmen in Ibadan, the State Acting Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Ogunsina Micheal, congratulated Mr. Mustapha and implored him to use his new office to chart a fresh course for the PDP in the local government. He urged the new chairman to work with other relevant stakeholders to deliver victory for the party’s candidate in the forthcoming bye-election scheduled for August 16.

The party reiterated its commitment to discipline and strict adherence to its constitution at all levels.
