APC Convention: We Will Align With Buhari’s Choice Of Candidate For Chairmanship – Governors.

President Muhammad Buhari GCFR meets with the APC Governors in the country in readiness for the National Convention of the party re-scheduled to March 26th .

Recall that eagelssights news broung to your notice that the Independence Electoral Commission of Nigeria as has said that the party has no right to continue with the convention as they haven’t followed due process to ascertain the rescheduled convention .

Contrary to the statement , the spoke of the APC CECPC Mr Ismaila Ahmed disclosed that INEC has no right to distort its convention as the Party as earlier written the commission to conduct it’s national convention on Feb 26th and that what is just needed is simply a notice of an adjustment not a fresh 21days notice.

Meanwhile, President Muhammad Buhari GCFR meets with all the APC Governors on Wednesday in ascertain unity and progress of the party.

The governor’s has however, pledged to synergize and concur with any candidate of Buhari’s choice, especially for the chairmanship position which will be keenly contested this weekend.

Recall that despite initial scepticism that greeted plans for the convention, the party stakeholders are finalising logistic arrangements for the convention which holds this March 26th.

In a report by daily post, the governors were led to the meeting by the Chairman of the Interim Committee of the party and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Bala Buni.

The chairman of Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, said they will support any process that would lead to a consensus.

Recall Buhari had last month said he was in favour of the consensus model for selecting candidates for the party’s national positions.

He had urged the governors to explore the option of consensus.
