Just In: Makinde, Oyo PDP To Receive APC, ADC Defectors Thursday|Eagle’s Sight News
Eagle’s Sight News reports that the Oyo State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has disclosed that the leadership of the party alongside its overall leader and Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde will on Thursday 13 October formally accept thousands of political decampees from other parties into the party .
As contained in a statement forwarded and signed by its state secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke to all the PDP members across the local government in the state, captured by Eaglessightnews, the decampees will be received at the remodelled Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba .
The full message reads,
“This is to inform us all that the Leadership of the Party will be welcoming decampees from APC, ADC, and other political parties on Thursday, 13th of October 2022 at the Remodeled Lekan Salami Sports Complex by 10 am prompt.
“The official welcoming of the defectors will be performed by the Leader of the Party and the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde.”
The political defectors according to Alhaji Adeleke’s message are from the All Progressives Congress (APC), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) as well as other notable politicians whose names are yet to be revealed for political reasons.
Recall, as the 2023 general election is fast approaching, and 2023 Political Campaigns officially started last week, the ruling PDP in Oyo state has not relent to receive massive defectors from other political parties into its midst
