The immediate past Director General, DG, Oyo State Liaison Offices in Abuja and Lagos, Comrade Wale Ajani, has advocated for the inclusion of youth representative from the state chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in the implementation Committee of the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery, SAfER.
Ajani made the plea in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday afternoon to commemorate year 2023 celebration of the International Youth Day. He added that if acceded to, the Oyo State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria would further consolidate on the platform an opportunity provided to help the governor actualize his Sustainable Development Agenda under Omituntun 2.0.
Ajani explained that Makinde has replicated governance in developed countries in Oyo State by removing the political discrimination against the youths, stressing the need to complement the governor’s faith in the youths of Oyo State.
Ajani also called on the organized private sector to prioritize investing in youths of the state to expand their market shares in the continually competitive business.
Ajani said, “International Youth Day. Very strong message around 2023 Theme: Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World. I call on government and private sector to invest in our youth more.
“I want to passionately appeal to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, being a youth friendly governor, to consider the Chairman of the NYCN in Oyo State chapter into the SAfER committee in the spirit of the global youth celebration.
“Green skills are ‘knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed to live in, develop and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society which I’m sure we have in abundant in Oyo State to help our leader and mentor actualize his Sustainable Development Agenda.”
Commending Governor Makinde for appointing youths into various key cabinet positions and roles in his government, Ajani noted that inculcating the chairman of Oyo NYCN in his economic recovery implementing committee would further deepen the motivation and inspiration drawn from his leadership by the youths.
Ajani urge youths of Oyo State to wake up and key into every available opportunity governor Makinde’s government provides and rally round the governor to achieve the Sustainable Development Agenda.
