Makinde Approves Release Of Over 2000 Promotional Letters To Oyo LG Staff

The Executive Governor, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde has approved the release of the year 2021 promotion letters to the over 2000 qualified local government staff that were successful at the just concluded promotion exercise conducted by the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.

 

This disclosure was made by Hon Aderemi Ayodele, the chairman of the local government service Commission in his office at the Secretariat, Ibadan.

Hon Aderemi Ayodele explained that the totality of the beneficiaries comprises both the professionals and sub-professionals in all cadres across all the departments of the local government service in Oyo State and that the promotion letters are ready and being despatched to all the 33 local governments/35 Local Council Development Areas in the State.

While commending the Governor for the prompt approval given to the release of the promotion letters, Hon. Aderemi described it as a good incentive and a sign of more good things to be expected from Governor Makinde’s administration, He, therefore, enjoined the civil/public servants, particularly local government staff in Oyo State to remain steadfast and be forward-looking.

In further realization of the Governor’s commitment to the workers’ welfare, the commission chairman recalled that in the first term dispensation of Governor Makinde’s administration, eligible local government staff with four years of promotion arrears from 2017-2020 were elevated with full financial benefits and at the same time, the local government service as well received a boost through aggressive capacity building programs, Hon Aderemi Ayodele further noted that salaries, allowances, Leave and End of Year bonuses, were promptly paid to the workers, despite the prevalent economic downturn occasioned by the Covid- 19 pandemic during the first term dispensation.

” From the positive human development witnessed in the first term and the immediate attention given to the release of the 2021 promotion letters, I strongly believe that the issue of backlogs of promotions would soon become history in the civil service of Oyo State as workers will earn their promotions as and when due, Hon Ayodele assured”.

In addition, the Commission Boss reminded the workers of the need to reciprocate the kind disposition of the workers-friendly Governor to their concerns, by rededicating themselves to their duties and also urged them to redouble efforts towards enhanced internally generated revenue to enable the administration to conveniently achieve its other lofty goals for the workers and the people of Oyo State.
