Prominent Monarch, Alaafin Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Joins Ancestors At 83

OYO:Eagle’sSightNewsNcomfirmed on Saturday from Oyo town in Oyo State that a prominent king ,’Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Atanda Olayiwola Adeyemi has bidded the world a farewell.

Reports have it that the monarch died on Friday at 83 years old at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, late Friday.

The remains of the monarch have been brought to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday (today) according to the sources.

The monarch reigned for 52 years, which made him the longest serving monarch in the State.

As at the time of filling this report , source has it that Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde will soon make an official statement on the passage of the monarch.

Alaafin’s death is coming a few months after the passing on of some prominent monarchs in the State.

Recalls that nothing less than three prominent monarch recently died in Oyo state including the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi who joined his ancestors on December 12th, 2021 and 41 Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji joined his ancestors on January 2nd, 2022.
