HISTORIC COLLABORATION BETWEEN MUSIC LEGENDS:How  Kutis and Marleys United for Landmark Single

In a groundbreaking musical union, Seun Kuti, son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, and Damian Marley, son of Reggae icon Bob Marley, are set to release a historic single titled “Dey”. Eaglessightnews has gathered

This highly anticipated collaboration marks the first time artists from the two legendary music families have worked together, bridging the genres of Afrobeat and Reggae.

Seun Kuti made the announcement via his Instagram account on June 19, 2024, revealing that the single will feature his Egypt 80 band alongside Damian Marley.

Earlier this year, the movie “One Love” about Bob Marley’s life was released, featuring Nigerian stars Wizkid and Bloody Civilian on the soundtrack. At the movie premiere, Bob Marley’s granddaughter Zuri Marley expressed her desire to see her grandfather collaborate with Nigerian artists, specifically mentioning Fela Kuti and Burna Boy.

Although the late music legends Fela Kuti and Bob Marley never had the opportunity to collaborate, their sons have now made that dream a reality.

The upcoming single, set for release on June 26, 2024, precedes Seun Kuti’s new album, which will be executive-produced by American music icon Lenny Kravitz. Seun Kuti has a history of collaborating with global stars, including Janelle Monae on her Grammy Album of the Year-nominated “The Age of Pleasure”. His forthcoming album is expected to feature a diverse range of international artists.
